The nature acquaints us with the creative power of God, and when we keenly observe those creations, we will understand the immeasurable power of God that pursues us to believe in His existence. In our present day scenario, because of the upcoming technologies, the current generation is unable to reach God even while utilizing all of His creations. There is a vast difference between God’s power of creation and our creativity.
In the beginning, God said “Let there be light” and there was light. The Bible says that before the creation of light, darkness was over all the earth. Till then the earth had never witnessed the light. God created everything out of nothing, as His word has the power to bring things into being. The first chapter of Genesis portrays the power of creation that brought the things that were not in existence.
As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
Romans 4:17
Creativity Skills
God created this world with all the amenities needed for mankind to survive. Out of these amenities, He gave wisdom to people to make ornamental works, productive tools and destructive weapons. The following verses speak about these three creativity skills bestowed upon us.
He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.
Exodus 35:35
But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
Deuteronomy 8:18
See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;

Arne Dietrich, Professor of Psychology at the American University of Beirut has classified creativity into the following four domains.
- Deliberate and Cognitive Creativity, which requires a great deal of time, dedication and abundance of knowledge about a particular subject.
- Deliberate And Emotional Creativity, which is always a balanced product of deliberate emotional thinking and logical actions. One should seek “quiet time” for deliberate and emotional creativity to happen to them.
- Spontaneous and Cognitive Creativity, which takes place when the conscious mind stops working and go to relax and unconscious mind gets a chance to work.
- Spontaneous And Emotional Creativity, which is not about knowledge but it is a skill such as writing, musical or artistic. This type of creativity can’t be obtained by working on it.
But all of these four domains talk about developing something out of the existing resources.
The Creation
John in his book describes God as the Creator and he ascertained that without Him nothing has been created.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
John 1:1-3
God created man in His image and named him Adam. Even before creating Adam, God created rain and all the trees and plants to provide food for Adam. Then God brought all the rest of the creatures to Adam to see what he would name them.
Adam was unaware of the offspring that he should generate according to the promise of God but was totally dependent on God and there was no place for worry in his life. When we trust in God, totally relying on Him, there will be no worries in our life. Before we realize our need, God will provide everything well in advance. Our worries indicate that we do not have our trust on God.
Our body and spirit belongs to God as He has created us. Not only that, when we had lost that belonging, God once again bought us through the blood of His Son as Jesus paid the penalty to His father, to reconcile us with Him.
Has not the one God made you? You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring.
Malachi 2:15
While performing a surgery, doctors expect the patient to lie still and they administer anaesthesia so that the patient may not feel the pain. God wants us to be still to fulfil His plans in our lives (Psalms 46:10). Without depending on God we cannot succeed in our endeavours.
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep to those he loves.
Psalms 127:2
God formed the woman out of Man’s rib bone while he was asleep. Trusting God will give us a stress-free life. While we have peace of mind, God will do wonders in our lives. That is why Satan always tries to disturb our peace of mind. If our mind frequently gets disturbed, it means that Satan has a place in our lives. But the presence of God is always guaranteed in our lives as He will be with us to remove every hindrance.
I will go before you and will level the mountains;
Isaiah 45:2-3
I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.
… so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
Even before we came into this earth, God named us and planned our lives. Our demands are based on what other people around us possess. The things that others possess may not be desirable for us in God’s perspective. But God provides us the things that have not yet come into existence. He creates new things for us every day and that is why the Bible teaches us to expect great things from God. Unfortunately the parameter of the word ‘great’, differs from person to person.
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him.
1 Corinthians 2:9
New Creation
He knows our needs years ahead. Our parents would have prayed for the provision of notebooks for us but surely would not have prayed for e-notebooks. Few decades ago, people would have asked God to provide them a telephone but certainly would not have asked Him for a cell phone. Yet He provides even when we do not know what are the essentials in our lives with the advancement of technology. Hence, let us submit ourselves to Him, who can provide everything we need even before we become aware of it.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
As Adam was ignorant of his need for a companion, we too may be ignorant of things that are being invented to cater to our future needs. Jesus is the same forever and He does not need to update Himself with the fast changing modern world. The knowledge and wisdom are within Him in fullness and if we rely on Him, He will guide us to cope with all modern technologies.
When we did not even realize that our souls were going to perish, God in His mercy spared His only beloved Son to save us from eternal death. We are His new creations.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Jesus gives us a new grace every morning and He is the only One who can cater to us with the things which we do not even know to ask. God knows us more than we know ourselves and He knows all our needs.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
