As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.

2 Corinthians 6:1

By sending His Son into this world, God has shown His unconditional love towards us. It is difficult for mankind to understand God’s love, as the world looks at love in an entirely different perspective.

Worldly love is always conditional and it motivates a person to do something good in return. Conditional love vanishes away once the conditions are not fulfilled. An unconditional love will be an unfailing love that survives in all circumstances of our lives.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Isaiah 54:10

We have a tremendous assurance from God such that satan often confuses many believers that the grace of God has been removed from their lives. When David committed adultery, he experienced this threat and pleaded unto God to not cast him away from His presence.

Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

Psalm 51:11

When we are obsessed with our sinful desires, we are unable to realize the provision of God’s grace in our lives. On the contrary, some people take God’s grace for granted when they get accustomed to their sinful ways and continue to sin. Yet they flourish and it becomes a source of discouragement for the righteous people.

This is because of ever-increasing grace of God. Romans 5:20 says, wherever sin increases there grace also increases and Romans 6:1-2 clarifies that because of ever-increasing grace we should not continue sinning.

For a student, grace marks are given to enable her/him to cope with other intelligent students, hoping that s/he will improve. While God is pouring out his abundant mercy on all people, He expects that His people should acknowledge the grace of God and benefit from it.

Some servants of God indulge in sinning when they see that their sinful life did not affect the presence and power of God in their ministry. In due course of time, they mistook this grace as a privilege reserved for servants of God and they continue to sin. To these sect of people, God explains the reason for His silence and rejects the aspect of privilege.

You have neither heard nor understood; from of old your ears have not been open. Well do I know how treacherous you are; you were called a rebel from birth. For my own name’s sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you…

Isaiah 48:8-9

We often forget His abundant grace and depend on our own deeds. Bible clearly teaches us that salvation is by the grace of God and no deeds of ours could contribute to it. Every believer is well aware of this basic truth but fails to remember it at all times. When success comes, pride takes over and we forget God’s grace and fail to honor Him.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

We are running here and there to attain salvation through our own efforts. It is hard for us to accept that Jesus has done everything for our salvation. Because, the nature of man does not allow anyone else to claim the credit. In other words, man does not leave anything for others.

Somehow we are failing to recognize God’s abundant grace in our daily walk. We recognize His grace only when an accident is averted, and we give testimony and thanks offering, all the while ignoring His perfect protection that averted such incidents even before it came to our knowledge.

When we fall sick, we call upon His name and put every effort to come closer to Him. But once the healing is received, we revert back to our routine life. We give praises to medicines, doctors and hospitals or our rigorous physical exercise and stringent diet control, but ignore God who provides wisdom and strength to achieve everything.

Prolonged sickness or chronic diseases draw us near to God. If we learn to realize His grace during the period of remission, and love to remain in His presence, then this prolonged sickness will vanish from our lives permanently.

We thank God for giving us a job but as soon as our salary is credited into our bank account we give God only a ten percent and the rest becomes our ‘hard-earned money’. We value money because it is the outcome of our endurance and perseverance. If we happen to work in spite of our ill-health, we boast about our will power. We brand all such earnings as ‘ours’, inadvertently rejecting the grace of God.

You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18

When we do not recognize God’s grace in our lives, the Spirit of God grieves. When God grieves, it crushes our spirit and torments our hearts. For this reason, many believers experience joy in the beginning of their spiritual walk but later are crushed in their spirit.

Always beware of God’s amazing grace, so that our walk with our Lord Jesus will again become a joy ride, as it was in the beginning of our spiritual walk.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Ephesians 4:30

If we become sensitive to God’s grace at all times, then we will understand the incredible love of God transforming us as His children.

Look at how great a love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children. And we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know Him.
