I Will Praise You – Hillsong

“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

Luke 19:40

When Jesus was entering Jerusalem, He was greeted by all who had heard about Him with shouts of praises. But the Pharisees were tight-lipped and scrutinized Jesus’ every move. Even though they could see who Jesus was, still they did not want to give their approval by Praising God for sending Him in our midst. Jesus promptly addressed their stubbornness when they sought to quieten the crowd, by reminding them that even if the people did not praise Him, the rest of God’s creation would shout for praise.

That seems to be our state today, wherein we know about God, his wondrous works and His precious gift given to us all, yet, our lives do not revolve around the idea of praising God for everything He has done in our lives.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:8

He is the beginning and the end, before we were born, He was caring for us and is constantly thinking about our eternal lives, the one waiting for us after we finish our journey on this earth. But the middle part of our lives, that we are spending on this earth, is where we need God the most and it seems like we have forgotten why were put on this earth.

the people I formed for myself
that they may proclaim my praise.

Isaiah 43:21

We were put on this earth to Praise God but we are preoccupied by our own lives, in living them to the fullest, that we have forgotten our very purpose of existence.

The angels know their purpose and bow in reverence at the very presence of God. The creation knows its creator and acknowledges it. Even the evil spirits never doubted Jesus or any of the men of God. Because they had experienced God’s wrath, they knew their place and the consequences associated with not acknowledging and Praising God.

But the pharisees and the elders of Israel did not feel the need to give reverence to Jesus. We are following in their footsteps if we let our ‘hectic’ lives take away the time we spent in God’s presence. Not time spent with a community praising God in our churches but the personal time, the one behind close doors, all alone we spend with God.

This song has become my Praise song. A song with no petitions or requests but simply acknowledging God for his awesomeness and Praising Him.

I Will Praise You – Hillsong (Lyrics)

Your love came first, Before I knew the cross You carried
Now free at last, I’ll freely give as I’ve been given

For everything You’ve done, And everything to come

I will praise You, Live to glorify Your Name
Forever anthem Your acclaim
Lord I will sing Your praise

Should words fall short, May they fall in honest worship
Till all I am, Breaks in reverence at Your feet

For everything You’ve done, And everything to come

I will praise You, Live to glorify Your Name
Forever anthem Your acclaim
Lord I will sing Your praise
I will sing Your praise, In the promise and the pain
For as long as life remains
Still I will sing Your praise

The first and last, The Alpha and Omega
God the great I Am, Who was and is and is to come
Almighty One, Blessed Father Son and Spirit
God Emmanuel is with us, Here and now and then forevermore

You rule in love, You reign in peace
You set me free, You owned the cross
You broke through death, Took back the keys
Your kingdom come, All the earth will shout with heaven
For You’ve always held the glory, And You always will Forever

I will praise You, Live to glorify Your Name
Forever anthem Your acclaim
Lord I will sing Your praise
I will praise You, In the promise and the pain
For as long as life remains, Still I will sing Your praise
Yeah I will sing Your praise
