I come before You today
And there’s just one thing that I want to say
Thank You Lord thank You Lord
For all You’ve given to me
For all the blessings that I cannot see

With the gift of eternal life that God has given us, all we can do is just give thanks to the Lord. There is nothing that God needs from us niether is there anything that we can do in return for his priceless gift to us. All we could do is just offer our praises. God doesn’t need us to praise him also, if we do not do, his other creations would do that. (Luke 19:40)

With a grateful heart
With a song of praise
With an outstretched arm
I will bless Your name

The psalmist says,

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. – Psalm 19:14

Unless these praises come from the heart, there is no value to it. Since we cannot do anything for God, at least our praises should be from our heart with the right intention.

For all You’ve done in my life
You took my darkness and gave me Your light
Thank You Lord thank You Lord
You took my sin and my shame
You took my sickness and healed all my pain
Thank You Lord thank You Lord

This song reminds me again and again that all we can do is Thank God for all that he has done for us. He brought us to light from the gravest darkness we were in, took our sin and shame on the cross, so that we can have the gift of eternal life. Even when we went astray, he was still taking care of us, he never left us.

We cannot see everything that he has done but even when we cannot see, he is still working and all we can do is thank him with a grateful heart and work towards the plans he has for us.
