God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” – Exodus 3:14

God does not need us to define Him or give Him an identity. This is what He meant when he sent Moses to the captive Israelites saying, tell them that ‘I am’ has sent Moses. But we need God to define us. We are not worthy to even call on Him but he chose to bring His kingdom closer to us. Let all our prayers be for God to define who we are rather than tell Him who we want to be.

Make me know Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. – Psalm 25:4
