Trust God

Quite often we are unable to understand God’s plans. Chronic diseases, fatal accidents, sudden demise of our dear ones and financial crisis keep us in dark from understanding His ways. When we do not understand His ways. Fear hovers over our lives, sorrow fills our hearts and peace eludes us. This shows that our strength is small.

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. When we do not have strength Satan will blind our eyes and we can not understand God’s plans – Proverbs 24:10

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. – 2 Corinthians 4:4

Jesus knows that our strength is weak and we are struggling to understand Him. That is why He says

“You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”  – John 13:7

As He says ‘someday’ it is evident that the present situation is not going to overcome us and definitely Jesus is going to deliver us and at that time we will understand everything.

……….. it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.’ – Psalms 73:16-17

To reach the sanctuary of God we must follow Jesus who paved us a way by shedding His precious blood on the cross.

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: – Hebrews 9:24

If we start following Him we will obtain the strength from above and we can understand everything. The Psalmist says

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord , which made heaven and earth. – Psalms 121:1-2

Friends, so far we are unable to understand His ways because first we trust on our own strength and second on other people’s strength. As long as we love our selves we won’t be able to put our trust on God but we will trust people and expect people’s appreciation for every thing. Then whatever we do is not going to please God.

Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they? – Isaiah 2:22

This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord . They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land. “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence’. – Jeremiah 17:5-7

Yes dear friends if our lives are tuned in such a way to please people then we will not be brave enough to face the facts of our lives. That is why God said that one should deny him self to follow Him. ( Luke 9:23)

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you.” But Jesus said, “Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.” – Luke 22:31-34

Peter said this not understanding God’s plan. He was relying on his own strength and unable to face the fact. He denied Jesus three times. But Jesus was aware of that and prayed for him. Is our mistakes preventing us from coming nearer to Jesus? He is aware of everything. If we repent He will make our past mistakes a powerful witness for others.

After resurrection Jesus asked Peter three times whether he loves Him. Two times he said, “Yes Lord I love You”, but only when Jesus asked him for the third time Peter acknowledged the power of Jesus and confessed his weaknesses by saying ‘Lord you know everything.” From that point of time onwards there was a paradigm shift in his life as well as in his ministry. Yes Jesus loves us in all the situations of our lives but it is we who withdraw ourselves from his love because of our pride and prejudices. If we confess today our weakness and disbelieves we can also have that rich experiences of Peter.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39
