The Scriptures state that God created mankind as male and female, and likewise, He created animals, birds, creeping things, and fish in pairs. However, humanity was created in His image. Consequently, God established everything in pairs. In this context, God declared that every word that proceeds from His mouth will sustain mankind, and the Spirit of God gathers together its respective pairs. When God indicates that His Spirit will couple the words with each other, it may superficially suggest the fulfillment of prophecies, where prophecy is considered one pair and fulfillment the other. Believers often seek appropriate words to receive blessings from God, easily associating scriptural promises concerning worldly blessings and claiming them as their own. Does this align with God’s assertion that no word of His will remain without a pair?

The Word Of God Accomplishes God’s Purpose

so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. – Isaiah 55:11 (NIV)

God has manifested His Word in the person of Jesus Christ, who came to fulfill the redemptive purpose for which He was sent and subsequently returned to God. Both before and after this event, it is evident that God continues to convey His words to each of us to fulfill His divine purpose in our lives and upon this earth. Consequently, Jesus instructed us to pray in the following manner:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. – Matthew 6:9-10 (NIV)

We engage in prayer as prescribed, yet do we ever pause to reflect on all that has transpired in our lives or on this earth, as it is in heaven? Concerning our needs, we are acutely aware of which prayers have been fulfilled by God and which remain unanswered. However, we often neglect to consider the extent to which our prayers have been addressed. We recite these prayers without fully comprehending their significance, and we tend to believe that it is not our responsibility to manifest changes on earth as they occur in heaven. We assume that God will orchestrate these events, despite our lack of understanding regarding the dynamics of heavenly occurrences. Yet, Jesus explicitly conveyed that He has brought the Kingdom of God to this earth with Him, as evidenced by His response to the Pharisees who inquired about the arrival of the Kingdom.

Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst. – Luke 7:20-21 (NIV)

When the Kingdom is among us, do we truly recognize its presence? We often fail to do so because we perceive the Kingdom of God as a matter to be considered only after death or as pertaining solely to the second coming of Jesus. However, as Jesus imparted to us the Word of His Father, aligning ourselves with this Godly guidance enables us to experience His Kingdom within our earthly existence. The subsequent words of Jesus further elucidate that we can indeed partake in the joy of His Kingdom while still here on earth.

I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. – John 17:13-14 (NIV)

This may hold some truth; however, it is imperative to recognize that when the Kingdom of God is present among us, it equips us with the standards of Heaven, minimizing the adjustments required upon entering our eternal glory. It is analogous to how astronauts train in a spaceship simulator, consuming supplements instead of traditional meals to sustain their lives during space missions. Similarly, God has bestowed His Kingdom upon this earth, allowing us to consume His word and truth to sustain our everlasting life in His Kingdom.

When the world is under the dominion of the evil one, it becomes apparent that we are in a hellish condition. While the Old Testament does not extensively address the concept of hell, the New Testament frequently references it, leading many to envision a place distinct from all else, engulfed in fire. According to Jesus, those who refer to their brothers as “fool” are deemed worthy of residing in Gehenna, which is translated as hell in various languages (Matthew 5:22). Gehenna was a valley outside Jerusalem, historically utilized as a refuse dump and a site of unceasing fire. The term is employed figuratively to signify a realm of total destruction or severe judgment. It is evident that if we do not align ourselves with God in this life, we may be living in a state akin to hell, despite our physical presence in the world. The critical question is whether we are striving to inhabit His Kingdom or becoming accustomed to hell.

The Word Search For A Pair

To safeguard our souls from eternal damnation, God gave us His Son for our salvation, and our Heavenly Father examines our hearts to align His graceful gesture with our needs and actions. Upon identifying our deficiencies, He imparts His Word to address that emptiness (Romans 8:26-27).

I the LORD search the heart
and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve. – Jeremiah 17:10

When our actions warrant punishment, God, rather than chastising us, enhances His love and grace abundantly (Romans 5:20). Through His love, we experience a graceful brokenness that enables us not only to survive but also to return to Him in repentance. As God diligently examines our hearts to provide an appropriate message, do we take the time to explore His Scriptures in search of a life-giving word that leads to eternal life?

Peter grasped this concept and resolved never to forsake Jesus, regardless of the circumstances (John 6:68). Although we are well aware that the Word of God is the sole source of eternal life, we frequently become preoccupied with verses that promise worldly blessings, neglecting to delve deeper into the Scriptures. We often focus solely on the Scriptures that promise worldly rewards, leaving aside other essential teachings, resulting in an incomplete reflection of the image of God in which we were created.

We can derive an important lesson from the enjoyable activity of solving a jigsaw puzzle: when we find ourselves confused and unable to place certain pieces accurately, we should first count the total number of pieces to ensure that the missing piece is indeed present. When the count of the pieces matches the total indicated on the puzzle box, we can gain confidence that all pieces are accounted for, allowing us to focus more on assembling the puzzle, ultimately leading to its completion. Similarly, when we come to understand that in Jesus, we can perceive the image of the unseen God and that everything we need is available in His Word, we are encouraged to diligently seek the Scriptures that resonate with our circumstances, ensuring that we do not look beyond His Word for answers. The Bible assures us that Jesus and His Word encompass everything we require.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. – Colossians 1:17 (NIV)

God’s Provision

Look in the scroll of the LORD and read:
None of these will be missing,
not one will lack her mate.
For it is his mouth that has given the order,
and his Spirit will gather them together. – Isaiah 34:16

God has bestowed upon us the law to enable us to discern the evil within ourselves and to seek His mercy in order to overcome that evil through His Word. Regrettably, many have deluded themselves into believing that they are deceiving God by asserting that they diligently adhere to all the laws. One faction has adopted a stance of self-righteousness, proclaiming their superiority, while another has misconstrued grace, neglecting to fulfill God’s commands under the false notion that it is not through their actions but solely by His grace that they are absolved from following His directives. Both groups have failed to diligently consult the Scriptures to uncover the true Word of God, instead choosing to remain satisfied with what they find convenient.

To cultivate a sincere devotion to God and to eradicate the sin that impedes our communion with the Father, there exist perfect Words that can aid us in transcending these barriers. Such Words may not be universally applicable; rather, they differ according to the gravity of one’s transgressions and the individual’s capacity to comprehend the truth. Therefore, let us abstain from merely reciting well-known verses of the Bible and instead engage in thorough study of the Scriptures to uncover the appropriate Word that possesses the power to restore our access to eternal life. As God has assured us that none of His Word is without counterpart, let us submit ourselves so that the Spirit of God may assemble the Word that our lives are missing.
