Main Reading Rom 4:16-5:1
As it is written, A father of many nations have I made thee) before him whom he believed, (even) God, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were.
History tells us the past; our life explores the present and we analytically forecast future basing the past and the present. But beyond this one more is there, that is, things which are not existing at all. But Bible says our Lord calls the things that are not, as though they were. Our God is the Creator. Other than God no one is Creator. All others can only invent. `Necessity is the mother of Invention’. Whenever man realised a need, he explored with the existing things as base, and came with an Invention.
God created man in His image and named him Adam. Adam never realised a need for a companion in his life. Though his life demands it so, he was so ignorant of his need, because there was no companion existed. As a father admires his son behaving with the new toy, God placed all the creatures of the earth in front of Adam to see how he calls them. Gen 2:19 And out of the ground Jehovah God formed every beast of the field, and every bird of the heavens; and brought them unto the man to see what he would call them: and whatsoever the man called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
Then our good God realised the need of a companion for him to share his feelings and also of the offspring that they should generate. God needs God-fearing offspring. Mal 2:15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
God formed woman out of Adam`s rib bone after making him asleep. Dear Brother’s and Sisters are you worrying for a suitable alliance for yourself or for your Children. Sleep Well. God will take care of your need.
Ps 127:2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Isa 45:2-5. I will go before thee, and make the rough places smooth; I will break in pieces the doors of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron; and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, 3. that thou mayest know that it is I, Jehovah, who call thee by thy name, even the God of Israel. 4 For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel my chosen, I have called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. 5. I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast not known me;
Here the phrase, `before known Him’ means, even before our existence, He named us. He provides our needs. Even before we realise our needs he had already made it for us. Sometime breaking the barriers, sometime breaching our ignorance, HE provides us treasures.
Many people pray to God that if it is your will you grant us. Dear friends God is all the time pleased to bless us. Then pleading His will is meaningless. James says often we are not getting what we want, because we are not asking in the way we should. Though James deals with prejudice as the reason for not getting what we want, the real essence is that we realise our needs on seeing others. May be the thing essential to our friend meant nothing to us. But our demands are socialistic. But God provisions are celestial. We must admit that we even do not know what we need. But He knows our need ahead of years, decades and so on. Our parents would have prayed for the provision of notebooks to their children as they go to school but surely would not have prayed for e-notebook. Few decades ago, people would have asked for a telephone and would not have asked Him a cell phone. Yet he provides. Dear friends, we really do not know what we is essential for our life. Hence let us submit ourselves to Him, who can provide everything we need even before we are aware of it. Young people you may feel a generation gap with your parent. But in Jesus there is no generation gap. Let Him deal your life. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
As Adam was ignorant of his need for a companion, we too, even in this modern era ignorant of many things. Having understood this let us cast our burden upon Him!
Ps 55:22. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Eph 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
